Lucknow: An advanced neuro-physiotherapy workshop based on Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) was successfully organized by Extra Care Physiotherapy Centre at Hotel Vijay Paradise on May 31. The educational event brought together around 35 physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals from across the region to enhance their knowledge and skills in modern neuro-rehabilitation practices.
The workshop was organized by Dr. Akanksha Upadhyay (PT), who emphasized the importance of continuous professional education in improving patient outcomes and advancing rehabilitation services.
PNF is a modern physiotherapy approach designed to improve muscle strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and overall functional movement. The technique is widely recognized for its effectiveness in the rehabilitation of patients recovering from neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, and other movement disorders.
The chief guest and keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Harpreet Singh Sachdeva (PT), Senior Physiotherapist at AIIMS, New Delhi. During his sessions, he shared valuable insights into PNF techniques, neuro-rehabilitation strategies, gait training, trunk control, and other contemporary rehabilitation approaches. His practical demonstrations and evidence-based guidance were highly appreciated by participants.
The workshop also featured Dr. Yogesh Sethi (PT), Senior Physiotherapist associated with BBD Badminton Academy, who spoke on sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, and performance enhancement strategies for athletes. His session highlighted the growing role of physiotherapy in sports medicine and injury management.
Another distinguished speaker, Dr. Santosh Kumar (PT), Physiotherapist at CRC Lucknow, discussed neurological rehabilitation and evidence-based physiotherapy interventions. He emphasized the importance of scientific treatment protocols and personalized rehabilitation plans in achieving optimal recovery outcomes.

Adding a multidisciplinary perspective to the event, Dr. Arvind Kumar Nigam (P&O) addressed participants on prosthetic and orthotic rehabilitation. He highlighted the role of assistive devices in restoring mobility, improving functional independence, and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, organizer Dr. Akanksha Upadhyay said that such academic workshops play a crucial role in connecting physiotherapy professionals with the latest advancements in rehabilitation science. She noted that continued learning and practical training ultimately contribute to better treatment outcomes and improved patient care.
The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony in which all distinguished guests and experts were honored for their outstanding contributions to the fields of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Participants described the workshop as highly informative, practical, and professionally enriching, underscoring the growing importance of advanced rehabilitation education in healthcare.
